Since the low of March 30th, we've witnessed one heckuva lock-out rally.
Or have we?
If you look at the S&P 500 or the NASDAQ, all you see is sunshine and rainbows. And, if that's all you are investing in, you're happy.
But if you look at sector specific performance, or even just look at the Value Line Geometric Average, the bifurcation is apparent. Yes, the technology sector has rocketed off into space. Commodities - lead by the price of oil - are also doing well. But just about everywhere else you look, we see weakness.
That said, since late May we do see some encouraging signs.
P.S. Bonds are still not "safe". So even though some might call this a "high risk" environment, you might want to think twice before you just shift your portfolio to bonds as is traditionally taught (but is wrong).
