Moving from Surviving to Thriving

Moving from Surviving to Thriving

December 01, 2025

We certainly have a lot to be thankful for - the move in the markets during the week of Thanksgiving is certainly one of them. However, as you will see in this month's video analysis update, prior to Thanksgiving week, most stocks were negative for the quarter.

While we can - and should - be thankful, we also see some evidence that we should remain cautious. The reality is that the economy is very finely balanced right now.

The good news is that it appears the average American is relatively well positioned with high cash and low credit card debt. However, there is also evidence to suggest that the majority of the stocks - i.e. the majority of the publicly traded companies - have been struggling. As we discussed in last month's video, the majority of stocks have been negative. That is starting to get better. And, if the Federal Reserve cuts rates again this month, that should make it easier for the average company to transition from surviving to thriving.
