Correction is Over ... or is a Recession Coming?

Correction is Over ... or is a Recession Coming?

April 01, 2026

While the month of March concluded with an inspiring rally, given how oversold the markets were, the rally was not a grand surprise.

That said, there are signs underneath the surface that the correction may indeed be over. However, our proprietary risk gauge is still very much on a composite sell signal.

This past month has also been yet another reminder that you should not consider bonds as a "safe" haven. Bonds have risk too and they remain volatile.

Finally, when we look at some of the economic data, we definitely see signs that concern us. First, the jobs market has been pretty weak. Secondly, there is evidence that the Federal Reserve might actually RAISE rates instead of lowering them.

Ultimately, we are quite pleased with how our process helped us navigate the last two months. Where we go from here, as always, it will be based on the evidence.
